MS88HS – FIPS201/PIV Fingerprint Smart Card Reader Combo

The MS88HS Fingerprint Smart Reader combines MS88H USB2.0 PIV Fingerprint Scanner
and ISO7816 smart card reader into one device. MS88H meets the US Federal Information Processing
Standard 201(FIPS 201) for Personal Identification Verification (PIV) of Federal Employees and Contractors. It
is also listed in the US General Services Administration (GSA) FIPS 201 Evaluation Program Approved
Product List.
MS88HS has exactly all features of MS88H. It can be used as purely fingerprint scanner with all
standard software. The smart card reader in MS88HS can handle any ISO7816 compatible smart card. So that
it can also be used as a standalone smart card reader.
And fingerprint scanner and smart card reader can be combined to do two-factor authentication. That is,
registered fingerprint is can be stored on smart card (carried by user) which is read into PC to match with a
freshly captured fingerprint from fingerprint scanner at the time of authentication. This can be achieved by
using  Fingerprint Recognition Software Development Kit (SDK).
